Lucienne Ide, MD, PhD is the founder and chief health innovator at Rimidi, where she established Rimidi’s foundational strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical, medical device and electronic medical record companies and continues to drive Rimidi’s vision with the latest clinical and technical standards. Prior to starting Rimidi, Dr. Ide had a unique combination of experience in medicine, science, government, technology and venture capital.
She received her undergraduate degree in physics from Middlebury College, and began her career working for the National Security Administration and the Central Intelligence Agency, where she developed a passion for data. Several years later, she received an M.D./Ph.D. in pharmacology from Emory University. In graduate school, she focused her work in the field of gene therapy, then went on to do her clinical training at the University Pittsburgh Medical Center. Frustrated by the inefficiencies in the systems and processes in healthcare, Dr. Ide left clinical practice and began working with a venture capital firm with the intention of investing in better healthcare technologies. However, she quickly noticed a lack of clinical understanding in the technologies that were being developed. She started Rimidi with a vision of using better data and technology to drive efficiencies in the clinical workflow and improve patient outcomes.
Georgia HIMSS and national HIMSS member, an active member of the HL7 FHIR community, a founding and steering committee member of the Connected Health Initiative, which advocates for healthcare policy reform, and co-chair of the Health Equity and Access Leadership Coalition. She’s a mentor to women and underrepresented minorities in Atlanta.
